Deevabits Green Energy (DGE) is a social enterprise that empowers Village Solar Entrepreneurs (VSEs), mainly youth and women, to establish micro-enterprises distributing solar lamps to the rural customers on a Pay As You Go (PAYGo) basis. Our sales team currently has 150 agents, living and working in the rural communities where our customers live; we are currently operating across five counties and are looking to expand to 4 new counties and 250+ agents by the end of 2020. We are looking for an Intern who will play a key role in helping us develop our customer systems in our effort to scale across the country, by supporting our sales team in receivables and data collection.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support sales agents in registration of new customers

  • Educating the customer about the product features, warranty issues and payment plan

  • Follow up on overdue customer repayments

  • Data collection from customers and agents

  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers

  • Keeping records of all customer interactions

  • Any other duties as will be prescribed by the Administrator or Senior Management

 

Skills and experience

  • Must have completed an undergraduate level degree program

  • Ability to think creatively and critically

  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters

  • Fluency in spoken English and Kiswahili languages, fluency in Kamba preferred but not a must

  • Good customer care and phone etiquette skills

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft office packages
