Assistant Sales Manager Vacancy

Reporting to:  National Sales Manager

 

Key responsibilities for the role include:

The Assistant Sales Manager will take full operational responsibility for all market-side functions of the direct sales business; setting up supply chain operations

  1. Recruit, train & develop a team of 50 VSEs in the designated Area as per laid down guidelines

  2. Daily monitoring and joint field work with VSEs to ensure that 50% of VSEs are active daily

  3. Meet daily, weekly and monthly Sales targets

  4. Support VSEs to improve on door-to-door sales and market activation in women groups and market days

  5. Support VSEs to ensure they adhere to all post sales collection activities including client calls and visits

  6. Conducting at least 3-night demos every evening along with the team of VSEs. The ASM must be present during one of the demos and must ensure that night demos begin by 6.30 pm and last for not less than 90 minutes each.

 The ideal Assistant Sales Manager:

  • Has a Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma from a recognized institution

  • Is mission-driven, entrepreneurial and passionate about making a significant difference in the world, lives and works in Kenya

  • Has competent skills in sales, management, leadership and reporting

  • Can inspire good performance amongst VSEs

  • Is fluent in English, Kiswahili and Kamba languages

  • Is willing to work in Eastern Kenya & Western Kenya

  • Possess a valid Driving/Riding License

  • Is well versed with the local market geography, language and trade market

  • Has minimum 2 years' experience in Sales or Sales related environments like Sales coordination or Channel management such as recruiting distributors or agents
